1659
Treaty of the Pyrenees:
"Traité de Paix des Pyrénées entre les couronnes de France et d'Espagne fait dans l'île des Faisans, le 7 novembre 1659"
Peace-treaty between France and Spain. The description of their borderline remained very vague. Article 42 states that  "the mountains of  the Pyrenees will divide the two kingdoms".

1660
Agreement about Cerdagne and LLivia:
"Convention entre les Commissaires de France et d'Espagne, en exécution du quarante-deuxième article du Traité des Pyrénées, touchant les trente-trois villages de la Comté de Cerdagne qui doivent demeurer au Roi de France, conclue à Livia le 12 novembre 1660"
This agreement is about the phrase in article 42 of the above Treaty of the Pyrenees about the division of the Cerdagne. It describes which 32 villages of the Cerdagne-plains became French and that Llivia - being a town, not a village - remains Spanish and turns into an enclave.

1764
Convention of Perpignan:
"Convenio de limites entre España y Francia por la parte del Ampurdan y Coll de Pertùs, arreglado y firmado en Perpigñan el 12 de noviembre de 1764, y ratificado por su Majestad cristianisima en 31 de dicho mes y año"
It settles a century-long borderdispute in and near Le Perthus, south of Perpignan.  A series of 10 bordermarkers were placed. They were incorporated in the bordermarker-sequence of 1866. See the history-page.

1785
Treaty of Elizondo (august 27, 1785)
"Traité définitif des limites entra la France en l'Espagne pourt établir une ligne divisoire aux Aldudes, ou Quint Royal en Valcarlos, et pour déterminer les limites des deux monarchies en tous les lieux contentieux du restant des Pyrennées"
This treaty is an agreement about the disputed borderline in the area called Aldudes,  to the south-west of St-Jean-Pied-de-Port.  Demarcation with 197 (unnumbered) borderstones and -crosses.

1856
Treaty of Bayonne I
"Traité pour déterminer la frontière depuis l'embouchure de la Bidassoa jusque'au point ou confinent le département des Basses-Pyrénees, l'Aragon en la Navarre, signé a Bayonne" 2 Décembre 1856
This first treaty describes the borderline and the bordermarkers between the Atlantic ocean and the mountain top of  "Table des trois rois" (table of the 3 kings). That's the tripoint where France, Aragon and Navarra meet. It includes the bordermarkers  1 - 272.

1858
The actual stipulation of the agreement and the localisation of the bordermarkers 1-272 was agreed upon in 1858 in a convention  supplementary  to  the  above-mentioned Treaty:
"Convention  additionnelle  au  Traité  susmentionné.  Signée  à Bayonne  le  28  décembre  1858"

1862
Treaty of Bayonne II
"Traité de délimitation, signée à Bayonne 14 avril 1862. S.M. l'empereur des Français et S.M. la reine des Espagnes, désirant continuer l'oeuvre commencée dans le Traité de délimitation signé à Bayonne le 2 décembre 1856, en consolidant la paix en la concorde entre les populations frontalières des deux pays, à partir de l'extrémité orientale de la Navarre jusqu'au Val d'Andorre"
This treaty describes the borderline from the eastern border of Navarra until Andorra. That includes the bordermarkers 273 - 426

1866
Treaty of Bayonne III
This third treaty describes the borderline and bordermarkers from Andorra to the Mediterranina sea. That part includes the bordermarkers 427 - 602

Treaty of Bayonne - Acte additionnel (1866):
Completes the earlier Bayonne-treaties of 1856, 1862 and 1866. It contains agreements and regulations which concerns the  border as a whole.  For example about the maintenance of the bordermarkers,  properties on both sides of the border, cattles and pastures, and the common use of waters.

1985
Décret n°85-183 du 6 février 1985 portant publication de la Convention entre le Gouvernement de la République française et le Gouvernement de l'Espagne concernant la modification de la frontière le long de la route transpyrénéenne d'Arette à Isaba
But according to the Spanish version already signed on december 4th 1982.  The bordermarkers 258 and 259 were moved to places nearby because of a new road from Spain into France. It involved the interchange of two triangular pieces of territory equal in size.

Décret n°88-1110 du 6 décembre 1988 portant publication de l'échange de lettres entre le Gouvernement de la République française et le Gouvernement du Royaume d'Espagne portant modification de la Convention additionnelle du 28 décembre 1858 au Traité de délimitation du 2 décembre 1856 (ensemble une annexe), signé à Madrid les 22 septembre 1987 et 10 juin 1988. Travaux de matérialisation de la frontière entre les bornes 44 et 45 dans le secteur du Col de Lizarrieta.
Between bm044 and 045 a series of 12 submarkers (and 3 unnumbered plates at ground level at Col de Lizarrieta) were placed for whatever reason.

Bm481 was (probably together with bm482) replaced in 1996 by a bronze plate in the tarmac, see this treaty concerning bm481

Though not dealing directly with borderlines or bordermarkers, it led to to a new borderline S of Pas de la Casa which divided the lake of Estany de les Abelletes for France in half, thus securing the water supply of Pas de la Casa. In 2019 six bordermarkers were installed near the lake: see this webpage.
