Port de Marterat - Laguna Romedo de Baix (bm423-425)

In short
Starting at Port de Marterat, the main route descends to the lakes of Estany del Port and Estany Xic. From the S-point of Estany Xic, a shortcut brings you via the lake of Estanyol de Flamisella to its larger sister Estany de Flamisella. There you will join the well waymarked trail coming from the hamlet of Noarre which brings you via Coll de Certascan to Refugi de Certascan.
Beyond the Refugi de Certascan you have to climb over a ridge to reach the lake of Estany de Romeda Dalt. Then the main route descends directly to Estany de Romeda de Baix. The variant however makes a a detour to cover bm424 and 425 which requires more wayfinding because a large part is not waymarked.

Considerations
Enough spots and nice lakes for a bivouac along the route and at its end. And there is also the Refugi de Certascan. The variant involves traversing rough terrain. Also a traverse from bm424 tot 425 along the mountainside.

- the main route is a smooth trail along the border and most of the bordermarkers (within ±100m reach of the main route) - the variants allow you to visit the remaining bordermarkers - altitudes are derived with Gpsvisualisizer using NASA SRTM1-data - km & elevations statistics computed in Basecamp - time according to Naismith's rule with average speed 4km/h; 10 min. extra for every 100m ascent and 5 min. extra for every 100m descent.
