Trip-summary
Part of  a 8-days hike from l'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre to Aulais-les-Bains, right through Andorra. In this way I linked two GR10-stopovers in a southern variant, enabling me to explore the tripoints of Andorra.

On this day I crossed the Portella Blanca with bordermarker 417, picked up the GR11 and finished near Estany de L'Illa.

Walking: 5½ hours. Ascending: ± 900 meters. Descending: ± 550 meters.

A nice place to camp.  Start of the easy ascent to Portella Blanca

Portella Blanca in sight

From a distance the Portella Blanca (White Pass)  is clearly visible.

Bm427

This spot is also the eastern tripoint of Andorra with France and Spain.
However: the exact spot remains uncertain. Some maps situate the actual tripoint a bit to the south.

See my special webpages on
The tripoints of Andorra

From here I descended into Spain, picked up the GR11-trail to the west and crossed the border into Andorra.
