And these are two borderstones of unknown origin between bm056 and
bm057. Each one has a S on one side and a B on the other. According to Jacques the S links to Sare, the main
village to the N in France, the other to Baztan, the Spanish
municipality on the other side of the border. There
are 4 of them. Jacques Koleck sent me a picture of a fifth one but the
picture showed that is was approximately 200m SW of bm056 and thus not
on the borderline.

On top of the rocky hill of Atxuria, I couldn't find the unnumbered cross, mentioned in the Treaty.
Still, there are several crosses out there: I have received pictures of Jacques Koleck, Serge Poncet and Robert Darrieumerlou.
This is the geodetic marker on the hilltop
|
|
A few meters of this geodetic markers, there is this cross.
Robert Darrieumerlou shows the same cross on this page and two other crosses on the next pages.
|
|
And Jacques Koleck kindly sent this picture. He wrote: this cross is difficult to see, it's west of the geodetic marker and there are traces of yellow paint.
By the way: we are looking in the direction of bm057 and 056.

Additional info of Corrinne Gourgeonnet: a stone of the size of a bordermarker, found at the foot of bm059.
I has a peculiar engraved groove on it with an unknown meaning.
